This year, we will celebrate the Vrije Academie’s birthday in a special way; not by looking back or standing still, but by offering an experience of art and the process of art production. From 16 October – 8 December, 2012 the Vrije Academie-building itself will be the point of departure for the multidisciplinary, three-step project OPERANDI. Sixty-five artists (and counting), working in the visual arts, dance, theatre, music, performance, literature, the new media and the social media, will be invited to participate by showing new or recent work, using the themes of TIME or ‘the personified building’.
